Because a geothermal system uses the earth as its heat source, the only energy required is electricity to run the pump, compressor and fan. So its carbon footprint is very low and could be zero depending on the source of electricity.
The many advantages of geothermal include significant cost savings, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and ensuring a more safe and comfortable home environment.
Simply put, geothermal works by connecting the space you wish to heat or cool (e.g. your house) to the earth and moving heat between the two. At the heart of any geothermal heating and cooling system is a heat pump,

We are very fortunate to have a team of talented individuals on staff! When you hire Lake Country Geothermal, you can be assure that you'll have a group of professionals dedicated to providing quality service!
Chris has worked as an auto mechanic for 17 years, where he served as lead mechanic and interim manager for his family’s auto shop. Now that we are lucky to have him onboard at Lake Country Geothermal, Chris takes care of our company fleet in addition to his geothermal system installation duties.
Chris has an incredible willingness to learn, an awesome spirit and hard work ethic. He’s skilled in HDPE pipe fusion and often works with Jesse building and installing our horizontal loops, but you’ll also frequently find him inside assisting Mark wiring up our heat pumps. We’re also leveraging his automotive background and developing Chris to become our controls expert.
Mark Knebel-Our Field Manager
Mark brings over 30 years of heating and cooling, plumbing and computer information systems consulting experience to Lake Country Geothermal and we are thrilled to have him on board! His analytical skills and attention to detail helps him to design the most efficient installation for our customers.
Since the age of 13, Mark has cultivated the entrepreneurial spirit by starting his first business at the age of 13. Mark now heads up our inside installation team. He enjoys relaxing and enjoying the outdoors when he’s not working.
Jesse Buckland-Our Excavator
Jesse, who has been an excavator for 9 years, is our soils expert and loop team leader. When he joined our team this summer, it enabled us to bring our horizontal loop excavation in-house, giving us greater scheduling flexibility. He is excellent at separating soil from rock or rocky soil during trenching so that the pipe can be enveloped in protective soil and as much of the topsoil as possible can be returned to the surface. Despite his “dirt” background, Jesse is particular fond of doing pond loops, taking a leadership role in designing and installing them.
When he’s off from being an awesome excavator, you’ll find him relaxing in the outdoors and fishing.
Debbie Smith-Marketing Manager
Debbie brings over 25 years of customer service and marketing experience to her position of Marketing Manager. She put her creative skills to work designing marketing collateral, managing social media and maintaining the website. In her off time, you can find her playing in the garden, writing and cooking her favorite healthy vegetarian meals.

What Our Customers Are Saying…
Our installation was somewhat unique since we have radiant heat and I wanted to incorporate the existing propane boiler into the new Geothermal System as a back-up. Lake Country Geothermal really researched this application and offered a system that provides heat, AC and hot water plus back-up for a very reasonable cost. The installation took longer than estimated but in the end we have what exceeds mfg specs for performance. I would recommend you consider Lake Country Geothermal very seriously.
